Tonsil Stones!

Tonsil stones are known as tonsilloliths which are calcified matter that gets trapped in the crevices of your tonsils.  Nice, huh?

They can weigh 300 mg to 42 g.  Can you guess how much this little gem weighs?  I've added a penny for ease of estimation!

Tonsil stones are putrid, disgusting, cheese-like, curdled yogurt nuggets which I commonly refer to as gag-a-licious, vomitsville, and utterly repulsive.  The doctor says there is nothing to worry about except horrible breath 24/7.  Oh, that's great, it's not like I ever have to talk with anyone on the job.

You can get them out on your own with the assistance of a q-tip and a little nudge on the tonsil or you can visit the doctor and have them pry it off of your tonsil with a metal instrument- when a tooth pick just won't do the trick.

It's good fun.  So, the next time you're bored on a Friday night, have a peek into your throat or stop on by my house.

There's always free popcorn.

OHMYGOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU JUST SOLVED A TWENTY YEAR MYSTERY FOR ME. I have shown them to drs and they didn't know what they were. I've also asked friends. Your description was perfect, disgusting, yet perfect. I used to get them ALL the time. Became a sexpert at removing them. Got hollow q-tips, inserted a large, straightened out paperclip into the q tip hole (after removing the cotton on one end), used that to push on tonsil which would dislodge the chunkage. I cannot believe this! I still get them but not constantly. I wonder what changed. I came up with all these weird ass theories about what they were--mystery SOLVED! Thank you. It's fucking gross. Not sure if the armit bacterial excrement is grosser than these, I don't think so. Are you a grosstologist?

That huge one of yours is fucking sha-nasty. I've had big ones like that too. And they reeeeeek. I found if I stayed on top of them with my q-tip tool I was fine. Where does the calcified matter come from? Food? Internal stuff? Mucus? THAT is the question. I still can't get over that fucking huge chunkage. Shitting ourselves and now this! I guess we've got nastiness going on at both ends.

LOL: it's calcium buildup- mine is from my nasty post nasal drip and dairy does not help.

It's coming out of both ends.

This things smell awfully bad. I've had them for as long as I can remember and only learnt that they're known as tonsil stones a few years ago. I really hate them and wish there was a way of getting rid of them without the surgery.

Tonsil stones are definitely no fun. I read at http://tonsilstoneremoval.org/how-to-remove-tonsil-stones-naturally-10-home-remedies-that-work/ that you can remove them by gargling warm salt water.
